As a culmination of the global achievements made by Future University in international university rankings worldwide, QS World University Rankings has chosen Future University to host the QS World University Rankings Awards Ceremony for the first time in Egypt for the winning universities, including Future University, which topped the list of Egyptian private universities in the QS World University Rankings 2025 according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
Future University ranked first among private universities and was ranked in the 901-950 category globally, and among the top 1200 universities in the world last year and the top 950 universities this year.
Top ranked Egyptian university
Future University has been named the highest-ranked private university in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and has achieved advanced positions in various international rankings; it is among the top 5 universities in Egypt, among the top 50 universities in the Arab world, among the top 20 universities in the African continent, and among the top 950 universities in the world.
The reasons for the university’s brilliance in the international arena and its placement among the top 900 universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings are due to:
– Applying international standards in the university’s colleges, including academic reputation, graduate reputation, the ratio of faculty members to students, the number of citations from research for faculty members, the ratio of international faculty members, and the ratio of international students.

Future University has achieved a distinguished position in the QS World University Rankings for 2024, as a result of the continuous efforts made by the university to develop and update the various teaching curricula among students, within the framework of the care and support provided by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Future University, who is keen to enhance academic excellence and develop the educational process on an ongoing basis.
The university has made great strides in the international ranking (QS), within the framework of what the university provides in terms of research and educational services at a global level that is in line with the latest advanced educational patterns and according to precise plans and programs, noting that the University of the Future enjoys a prestigious position among private universities.
This coronation places Future University on the list of the most prominent private universities in Egypt and fourth among Egyptian public and private universities. Future University is considered one of the most prominent Egyptian private universities because it is one of the most successful institutions of higher education, and has previously obtained many advanced positions in international classifications for the quality of education at the global, Arab and African levels.
Future University has obtained an advanced position in Times Impact Ranking 601-800 worldwide, and second place in Egypt in quality of education and non-discrimination, and in Scimago 720 worldwide, and thus Future University has joined the world map of distinguished international universities.

The University of the Future is distinguished by its diverse faculties and programs that are compatible with the needs of the regional, local and global labor market through the important faculties that the group includes, which are the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industries, the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, and the Faculty of Computers and Information Technology.

Increase in the number of Egyptian universities in the QS World Ranking
Future University, headed by Dr. Obada Sarhan, also organized a celebration on the occasion of the increase in the number of Egyptian universities in the QS World Ranking.
The event was attended by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hossam Othman, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Innovation and Scientific Research, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Alaa Ashmawy, Head of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, Dr. Abeer El-Shater, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs and General Supervisor of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and a group of university presidents, ministry and university leaders, faculty members, and a number of researchers.
Dr. Ayman Ashour praised the efforts of the universities that contributed to their presence in the QS World Ranking, stressing the importance of universities continuing to improve the quality of their research to be in advanced positions.
He pointed out the need for the rest of the universities to strive to be present in the major prestigious international classifications. The celebration witnessed the honoring of the presidents and representatives of the 15 universities that were included in the classification.
QS World Ranking
The QS World Ranking witnessed the presence of 15 Egyptian universities, with Future University ranked from (901-950), followed by Mansoura University ranked from (901-1000), and (Al-Azhar University, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Assiut University) ranked from (1001-1200) worldwide.
The British University in Egypt, the German University in Cairo, Helwan University, Suez Canal University, Tanta University, and Zagazig University were ranked from (1201-1400) globally.
The QS World Ranking is based on several indicators, which are:
- Academic reputation (30%)
- Reputation of graduates (15%)
- Faculty to student ratio (10%)
- Citation volume of research by faculty members (20%)
- International faculty (5%) and international students (5%)
- Network of published research among researchers from more than one country this year
This classification also improved the evaluation methodology, introducing three new measures:
- Sustainability (5%)
- University graduate employment results (5%)
- International Research Network (5%)
